Credit Recognition and Transfer (CTR)

A CTR is the process of awarding credit towards your chosen program at New Zealand Tertiary College for courses which you have already studied at other tertiary providers.

CRT is assessed on a case-by-case basis. If you wish to apply for credit you will be required to pay a $95.00 NZD application fee. This fee covers the cost involved in the assessment process of CRT. Students are required to pay the fee prior to their CRT assessment and interview with New Zealand Tertiary College.

For overseas qualifications:
You may be eligible for credit if you have completed an early childhood qualification at an overseas tertiary institution. Before New Zealand Tertiary College begins the CRT process, you need to get your qualification assessed by the NZQA. Please contact the NZQA for more information on this process www.nzqa.govt.nz

NZTC’s Pastoral Support Team supports students to deal with any issues, personal or professional, that may affect a student’s performance. The team regularly helps students through health and family issues, and can refer you to external support agencies should you require them.

Please note: NZTC observes and is bound by the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students. Copies of the Code are available from the NZQA website.

If you are not from New Zealand, it is appreciated that there will be things you want and need to know. NZTC offers a wealth of information on the international section of their website, covering key areas such as accommodation, medical and travel insurance and eligibility for health services.
