Facilities
EIT LIBRARIES
EIT Libraries provide research facilities for student use. A variety of study options including individual and quiet areas, and group and social spaces are available in a relaxed and friendly environment. Our highly qualified and experienced librarians are available to assist students utilise the wide range of resources that support study in all EIT programmes. Resources include books, journals, newspapers, electronic resources, DVDs and CDs. Computers, laptops, mobile device connections and technical support are available in the libraries. The MyEIT student portal, and the Library and Learning Services website offer access to a wide range of electronic information sources and online study and computer guides. These websites are available both on and off-campus.
EIT WIFI
EIT’s wireless networks allow students and staff to work with their laptops and hand-held devices wherever they choose on campus. In addition, students can now access a remote desktop session from home. This means they will have access to main applications like Microsoft Office, when they are off campus as well. Students can access support information wirelessly, print on campus, link to EIT Online, results, student handbook, timetable and password management.
EIT ONLINE
EIT Online is our online learning platform, where students can access course sites with learning resources, communication tools and learning activities to support their study. EIT Online uses a learning management system called Moodle, which is used by educational institutes across the world.
OTATARA BOOKSHOP
The Otatara Bookshop caters for all EIT student and staff stationery and textbook needs.
The shop also carries a small range of fiction titles, postage stamps, gift items, souvenirs, greeting cards and gift wrap. A courier service is available and students can send faxes for a small charge.
The bookshop is located at the front of the Student Amenities Complex in K Block on the Hawke’s Bay campus. Books can also be ordered by email and fax. Payment can be made by credit/debit card.
HEALTH CENTRE
The EIT Hawkes Bay Health Centre is available for Students.
General medical services are available at the EIT Hawkes Bay Health Centre, located in K Block.
- Open 8.00am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday
- Doctor consultations 9.00am – 3.000pm during weekday term times
- Experienced, friendly staff
- Counselling sessions are free
CAFES
EIT has bountiful choices when it comes to Cafes and Restaurants. Hawkes Bay has Bean There Cafe and Eat Cafe plus the Scholars Restaurant. Tairawhiti has the Hub Cafe and Restaurant 282.
