Christchurch is the largest city in the South Island, situated in the Canterbury region. Known as “The Garden City”, it was one of the earliest settlements, built in a classical English style. Unfortunately, earthquakes destroyed many of the old buildings in 2011, but with exciting new rebuilds it remains a beautiful city.

Christchurch is warm to hot in summer, and cool to cold in winter. As a major tourism centre, it offers jobs in tourism and hospitality.
